Overview

Trade the city for creeks, tea terraces, and bamboo forests. This one-day hike takes you from Shanghai to Hangzhou most scenic trail through Jiuxi eighteen mountain streams, into Longjing village for a Dragon Well tea experience — pick, roast, and taste Longjing tea with local pastries, along the Shili Langdang ridge with panoramic views, and down through the Yunqi bamboo grove. High-speed train and private car transfers included.

Itinerary

Day 1

Hangzhou Longjing Tea Trail Hike

8:00 AM — Depart from Shanghai (Hongqiao/Station/South Station) via high-speed train. Private car pickup within Shanghai city area.

9:00 AM — Arrive at Hangzhou East Station. Private car picks you up and drives to Jiuxi.

10:00-11:00 AM — Arrive at Jiuxi. Begin the hike. Jiuxi Smoke Tree first. Mist weaves through ancient trees.

11:00 AM-12:00 PM — Jiuxi Eighteen Creeks. Step on stepping stones and splash through mountain streams.

12:00-1:30 PM — Longjing Village. Tea picking experience, then enjoy authentic Longjing tea with local tea pastries.

1:30-3:00 PM — Shili Langdang ridge hike with tea field views. West Lake and Qiantang River visible on clear days.

3:00-4:00 PM — Zhenji Temple and Yunqi Bamboo Path. Cathedral of towering bamboo.

4:00 PM — Private car to Hangzhou East Station.

5:30 PM — High-speed train back to Shanghai.

6:30 PM — Arrive in Shanghai. Private car to hotel.

Good to Know

  • Shoes: Wear trail shoes with good grip — creek crossings can be slippery.
  • Season: This trail is beautiful year-round. Spring (March-May) is peak tea picking season. Autumn (October-November) offers stunning red foliage.
  • Fitness: Shili Langdang has about 460m elevation gain. Take breaks at the ridge-top pavilions.
  • Train Station: We book based on availability — Hongqiao, Shanghai Station, or South Station.
