Itinerary
Shanghai Bund City Walk
Start: Meet at Yuyuan Garden Metro Station (9:00 or 16:00) β Metro Line 10, Exit 1.
Stop 1: Yuyuan Garden Area (Old City Wall) β Walk past the famous garden's outer walls. Contrast between the 1550s Old City and the foreign concession.
Stop 2: Bund No. 1 β Former Asia Building. The Bund's First Tower, built by Asiatic Petroleum Company.
Stop 3: Bund No. 2 β Waldorf Astoria. Walk through the lobby to see the famous 34-meter Long Bar.
Stop 4: Bund No. 12 β Former Hongkong & Shanghai Bank. The most luxurious building east of the Suez in the 1920s.
Stop 5: Bund No. 13 β Shanghai Customs House. Big Ben of Shanghai, plays The East Is Red at 8am, noon, 6pm.
Stop 6: Peace Hotel β Former Sassoon House. Art Deco lobby, still a working hotel.
Stop 7: Bund No. 23 β Former Bank of China. Only building on the Bund built by Chinese architects.
Break: Coffee or soft drink.
Stop 8: Bund Origin β Former British Consulate. Where Shanghai's foreign era began in 1843.
Stop 9: Waibaidu Bridge β Tour ends. Sunset spot for evening session.
