Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrive, Ascend, Explore
9:00 AM — Your guide picks you up at your hotel in downtown Huangshan (Tunxi). Drive about one hour to Huangshan South Gate.
10:30 AM — Board the scenic shuttle bus (20 min) to Yungu Cable Car station. Ride up through the mist to 1,683m — granite pillars emerge, twisted pines cling to impossible cliffs.
11:30 AM — Hike to Shixin Peak (Believe-it-or-Not Peak). Even skeptics are convinced of Huangshan's beauty here. Wander among the famous Huangshan Pines — each twisted by centuries of wind.
12:30 PM — Continue to Beihai (North Sea) area. Spot the Monkey Watching the Sea rock formation and Dream Flower Pen peak — Huangshan's most photographed landscapes.
1:00 PM — Lunch at leisure on the mountain (bring your own snacks or buy light meals on the mountain; not included).
2:00 PM — Check into summit hotel. Rest your legs — you're sleeping above 1,600m tonight.
3:00 PM — Walk to Paiyun Pavilion (Cloud-Dispersing Pavilion) with your guide. This is the entrance to the West Sea Grand Canyon — peek into the gorge from above and imagine tomorrow's descent.
5:00 PM — Sunset at Danxia Peak. Watch golden light paint the granite peaks as clouds roll below.
6:00 PM — Dinner at your hotel restaurant ($20/person if booked through us) or bring your own food.
Day 2 — Sunrise, Choose Your Route, Descend
5:00–6:00 AM — Sunrise above the sea of clouds. Your guide picks the best viewpoint based on the day's conditions.
7:30 AM — Breakfast at hotel.
8:30 AM — Choose your descent route:
Option A — West Sea Grand Canyon (for the adventurous). Descend 2 hours into a dramatic gorge carved into the cliff face. Reach the canyon floor at 1,300m, then ride the ground rail cable car (not included, $15/person) back up.
Option B — Light Summit (more relaxed). Hike via Echo Wall and Flying Stone to Light Summit (1,860m) — panoramic views of Shixin Peak, Lotus Peak, and beyond.
11:30 AM — Lunch at leisure (bring your own snacks or buy light meals on the mountain; not included).
12:30 PM — Pass over Aoyu Peak and through One-Line Sky — a crevice so narrow you can touch both walls.
2:00 PM — Welcoming Guest Pine at Yuping Tower. Photo at Huangshan's most famous landmark.
2:30 PM — Yuping Cable Car descent, shuttle bus back to transfer center.
3:30 PM — Drive back and drop off at your choice of three destinations: your downtown Huangshan hotel, Hongcun Ancient Village, or a hot spring resort at the foot of Huangshan. Arrive around 4:30 PM.
